Corten Yard

Material use, modern spaces, and unique use of daylight, while providing privacy are all components of this project we are proud of. This project was a bit of a trailblazer in Tulsa and pushed a lot of the edges of the Permitting process due to it’s unique Site setup. We were able to use all of the restrictions as design opportunities and really dig into this one. Corten steel is the primary material used on the exteriors. Corten is a steel product that is meant to weather as it forms its own protective skin to ensure longevity. A moire (water stains) pattern was achieved by letting the stacked steel panels sit on site and collect rain, condensate, etc. Showcasing that steel is in fact an organic building material (that we happen to really like)!
